Let these songs speak for me for now

[inspired by T-boy’s Malay music madness]

I’ll be needing some time to adjust to my new life in London and SOAS at the moment. Some changes can be really overwhelming especially when one has to move into a completely empty house that is also falling to pieces. I hate the city despite being born and raised in one. Being in of the biggest and most expensive cities in the world doesn’t help either, so I’ll be taking a few days off from blogging (but will still respond to comments) to breathe deeply, and exhale.

You can tell that I’m quite the sentimental type🙂

  1. The only thing slightly more hilarious than this post being inspired by T-Boy’s Malay music madness is his play-by-play reaction to your choice of music.

    We so emo, aiyo.❤

For NaNoWriMo I think I'm going to need a playlist of Malay rock music.

    • In case you were wondering:

“OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE I FORGOT THIS SONG”
“AHHAHAHAHA SUDIRMAN SONG THAT ISN’T THE USUAL OVERPLAYED STUFF”
      ZAITON SAMEON! WIN! ♥”

      • There’s something that my boyfriend said about 80’s Malay pop music that it somehow sounds at least a decade older than it actually is, a little like us Malaysians still wearing 90’s clothing that was all about … wait, what was 90’s fashion all about anyway besides being total shite??? And then I get all defensive by saying that Malay pop music is a lot more cultured than *ahem* Western pop, deriving musical influences from keroncong and other influences that I’m not well-informed enough to describe here. Overall, 80’s Malay pop inspires some damn fine irrational pleasure in me – give me the voice of Zaiton Sameon to get me through the darkest of days anytime! Seperti burung yang kepatahan sayaaaaapp!!
